It's Black History Month and I have been busy curating content all over the place! Up first, is my interview with Black News Channel anchor/host and author Shannon LaNier. He is a descendant of Thomas Jefferson (yep that one that owned slaves) and Sally Hemmings. We chatted about learning about his own lineage, plus the new Smithsonian Channel docuseries "One Thousand Years of Slavery: The Untold Story"  executive produced by Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance.  The four part series starts airing 2/7. Side note: We also talked about my experience learning about safe houses in Tennessee and actually going down into one of the tunnels.. so make sure you check out the interview!
