Hey Mofos! 

A couple of weeks ago, I got a text message saying an announcement was going to be made and this person wanted to come on Check the Rhymes to talk about. Well, you know me, I thought "awesome! This must be a new television show announcement!" 

Except.. it wasn't. On October 1, Ananda Lewis announced that she had been battling stage 3 breast cancer and that was the announcement. 

I went through a roller coaster of emotions, but knew I had to handle this interview with care, and treat my friend the way she wanted to be treated-- the same as always with no pity.  I know many of you will ask why I didn't ask certain questions, and perhaps I did, but I'm not here to exploit someone I look up to and call a friend. I'm here to let her tell her story and tell it the way she wants to.
